Tallaght University Hospital selected a solution for point of care management (inventory management
and medical device traceability) called Genesis. This is a world class solution to help theatre
staff and hospital administrators track and audit the use of medical instrumentation and
devices in surgery, as well as connecting the supply use to the patient and clinician. All
related costs are also captured for every procedure and used in patient billing.
In order to make Genesis speak to the ERP SAP system, Sapro Solutions were engaged to
deliver this critical interface. The information flow was two way between SAP and Genesis
including processes such as the procurement cycle of Purchase order through to goods
issue and the resulting financial transactions. When combined with the SAP system, Tallaght
University Hospital have a complete “Scan4Safety” solution that is best in class.
